What is Beymetatool?

Beymetatool is a tool created by the international Beyblade X community that aggregates results from official WBO (World Beyblade Organization) tournaments to assign a performance score to every blade, ratchet and bit.

In practice: every time a combo wins or loses in an official WBO tournament, that result enters the calculation. The more tournaments you win, the higher the score. The higher the score, the more competitive the piece is considered in the current meta.

It is the reference tool of the global competitive scene — and the data you find on BeyX Hub (database, tier list, combo builder) is all based on that same WBO dataset.

How it collects data

Beymetatool does not use opinions or votes — it uses verified tournament results. The process is simple:

1. An official WBO tournament takes place somewhere in the world
2. Results are registered on the WBO platform
3. Beymetatool imports those results and calculates how many times each combo/blade has won, lost and what position it placed
4. From this data an aggregated score emerges for each piece

The dataset covers tournaments from around the world (USA, Japan, Europe, etc.) — which makes it a statistically robust sample compared to the experience of a single player or a single country.

How to read scores and tiers

The Beymetatool score is a raw number that grows with better tournament performance. Tiers are assigned based on fixed thresholds.

Thresholds differ for ratchets and bits because raw scores are calibrated on different scales:

• Ratchet — S+: ≥90 · S: ≥70 · A+: ≥50 · A: ≥40 · B+: ≥37 · B: ≥28
• Bit — S+: ≥70 · S: ≥60 · A+: ≥50 · A: ≥38 · B+: ≥30 · B: ≥20

S+ ratchets and bits in Beymetatool are those that appear in WBO combos with the highest win frequency — 1-60 and 9-60 for ratchets, Hexa and Low Rush for bits.

What it means in practice: an example

Take Wizard Rod, score 90 (S+). This means that in global WBO tournaments, combos based on Wizard Rod have won frequently enough to accumulate 90 points. That is an exceptional result.

Compare it with Clock Mirage, score 34 (B+): it appears in tournaments, has some placements, but doesn't match the win frequency of S+ blades.

The score doesn't say Clock Mirage can't beat Wizard Rod — it says that statistically, across a large sample of tournament matches, Wizard Rod wins far more often.

Blade tier vs combo tier: the important distinction

Beymetatool assigns a tier to the blade as a single component. But in Beyblade X you play a full combo (blade + ratchet + bit) — and not every combo built around an S+ blade is S+.

Example: Aero Pegasus is S tier (score 65) as a blade, but its most tested WBO combo (1-60 Rush) is B tier. Why? Because the WBO dataset for Aero Pegasus is still limited — not enough tournaments have been played to get a precise estimate for the combo.

How to use Beymetatool data to build combos

The most direct way is to use our Combo Builder: we have integrated Beymetatool tiers for all 20 blades, 24 ratchets and 27 bits in the database. When you select pieces, the builder shows you:

• The combo tier if the exact combo is present in real WBO data
• A blade-based estimate (with Beymetatool tier) if the combo hasn't been tested in a tournament yet
• The WBO win rate for combos with real data

How often does the meta update?

Beymetatool is not real-time — it is updated periodically with new WBO results. Generally every one to two months, depending on tournament volume. The meta changes slowly: S+ hierarchies tend to remain stable, but occasionally a new blade (or new combo) rises quickly.

Frequently asked questions about Beymetatool

Does Beymetatool only consider official WBO tournaments?

Yes. Only results from tournaments registered and validated by the WBO enter the calculation. Unofficial local tournaments, friendlies and online matches are not counted.

Can a B tier blade beat an S+ blade?

Absolutely yes. The tier is a statistic over large numbers — it does not predict every individual clash. Launch technique, stadium choice and matchup decisions matter enormously. A skilled player with a B tier blade can beat a beginner using Shark Scale.

Why do some new blades have a low tier even if they seem strong?

Because they have few WBO data points. A recently released blade may be potentially very strong but, if it has appeared in few tournaments, its Beymetatool score is still low. Over time and with more tournaments the tier adjusts. This is the case with Aero Pegasus: score 65 (S tier) but the most tested combo is B — the data will consolidate.

How do I find the best combos, not just blades?
